A serene island where you can view the simplicity of life in all its charm, Kumbalangi is a perfect location to visit, relax and rejuvenate.

Sometimes we come across small destinations that carry the entire essence of a larger destination that it is a part of. They are the hidden gems inside the heart of a land that in many ways define the very nature of the region. The district of Ernakulam is naturally blessed with a few such idyllic locations; perhaps one of the most celebrated of these being Kumbalangi – a village set amidst lush greenery and mind-blowing backwater beauty.

A serene island where you can view the simplicity of life in all its charm, Kumbalangi is a perfect location to visit, relax and rejuvenate. Acclaimed as an Integrated Tourism Village, the island has in recent times transformed itself into a model fishing village and a fast-growing tourism spot; which is the first of its kind in India. Spread over an area of 16 sq.km., much of the local community here work as farmers, fishermen and other labourers.

The island boasts of rich aquatic life and is a breeding ground for prawns, oysters, crabs and various small fishes. You can see Chinese fishing nets throughout the village. As a tourism hotspot, Kumbalangi offers boating and fishing experiences that are very unique to the destination.
